Education & Training
Dr. Carl Giordano studied medicine at Rutgers Medical School after earning his Bachelor of Science from Villanova University. Soon after earning his Doctor of Medicine, he began a comprehensive series of postdoctoral training positions, including a year-long fellowship in clinical orthopedics at the Hospital for Joint Diseases at the Orthopaedic Institute in New York City. He also completed postdoctoral training in general surgery at two other New York City medical centers. Dr. Giordano then returned to the Orthopedic Institute's Hospital for Joint Diseases, where he spent four years as a resident in orthopedic surgery. After completing his residency, he continued at the medical facility to complete a fellowship in spinal reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Carl Giordano holds official certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow with the organization. He holds Charter Membership with the American Board of Spine Surgeons. Thoroughly involved in his professional community, Dr. Giordano is affiliated with several organizations within the field of treating spine conditions and spinal surgery, including the North American Spine Society, the Morris County Orthopedic Society, and the Medical Society of New Jersey.
Between 2002 and 2003, Dr. Giordano was recognized by Better Living Magazine in their list of "Best Doctors" and held a place as a Top Surgeon with the Consumer Research Counsel of America. He has continuously practiced as an orthopedic spinal surgeon through Atlantic Spine Specialists for more than 20 years. In the past, he fulfilled roles of medical director at the Stryker Howmedica Osteonics Tissue Bank and the Health South Physical Therapy Center. Throughout his career, Dr. Giordano has held influential positions on orthopedic committees at numerous medical facilities such as the Atlantic Health Hospital System, Spine Tech Company, and the Atlantic Neuroscience Institute.
